Jon Schultz

Jon plays a leadership role within Carlyle Group and has significant responsibility for business development, client relationship management and search execution.

Jon Schultz is a managing director and founding member of Carlyle Group. He has long demonstrated his leadership in two Carlyle practices, Real Estate and Consumer and Retail Markets, and has placed exceptional executives in a variety of senior leadership positions for client organizations.

In the Real Estate Practice, Jon has placed leaders at all functional levels (from managing director to executive vice president) within originations, mortgage lending, portfolio management, risk management, compliance, operations, capital markets, tax-exempt finance, administration and equity investments. He has worked closely with leading multi-national financial services organizations, developers, advisors, REITS, government agencies and various other entities, playing a strategic role in aligning organizations’ business strategy to executive leadership and management team selection and hiring initiatives. Jon also has been instrumental in helping clients establish a presence in virtually every major market in the country, and globally as well.

In Consumer and Retail Markets, Jon leads searches for clients who demand extraordinary talent to drive innovative leadership in consumer insight, brand building and management, and the creation of sustained success. Jon’s considerable search experience makes him a valued partner for clients dealing with unprecedented challenges and opportunities in their particular industry.

Jon attended DePaul University, and is active in numerous professional real estate organizations. He serves on the Chicago Real Estate Council's (CREC) Professional Development Committee and is an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and an active member and fundraiser for the YMCA. Also, Jon serves on the Education Committee for the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
